| Amber | Amber Room | Music Boxes | Baroque |
The fate of the Amber Room after it vanished from the picture in 1944/45 is one of the great mysteries of history. Few original pieces have been found; one – a cupboard – in the possession of a Berlin housewife, who, not knowing of its origin or value, used it to store her table linen. But the majority of the room has disappeared.
It did include boxes, used as decoration. But at least the original Amber Room never included an Amber made music box. It couldn’t as, as you can read following the links above, the room was finished in 1763, while music boxes are a 19th century invention.
