Today is so much faster than yesterday. I don’t just mean that we are traveling faster or that we have instant access to information. Our desire for new things is curbed so that we long faster. New technology makes us constantly available practically everywhere. Being just in one place with the people there isn’t enough for us anymore. And so on.
What we forget in all of it is the time it takes to just be and breathe. In our haste to leave a mark of our presence we lack the most basic condition to do so – knowing, reflecting who we are. In the yoga tradition the breath represents our soul and to experience our breath it takes a conscious break – breathing space.
I invite you to start the break by finding the numbers. Locate them in the busy background, take them apart, trace them, make space for an experience that only your mind creates.
