With so many social media apps in existence this might come as a surprise, but then communication is more than making a statement. It is a game of senders and recipient exchanging ideas and arguments in which the recipient’s first and foremost job it is to listen to understand not to listen to reply. A lot of our problems – big and small – find their reason in the inability or unwillingness to successfully communicate.

And then there is the fact that we more and more cease to communicate human to human. As someone who lacks by nature the ability to read non-verbal communication I know what is lost by this tendency. About all of our inter-human feelings like the first mentioned ability to empathy depend on it.
